Solicitor General Tushar Mehta and senior advocate Indira Jaising had argued in the top court that it was inappropriate to maintain public order in the courtroom and no public interest was at stake in the case where the prosecution has no case to prove. But the court has slammed their arguments in the contempt case and said it was the responsibility of both of them to be bound by the directions of the high court, while observing that their arguments were against the concept of law. “The Attorney General and Solicitor General are the officers of the court.
